Hermann Scheihing (born June 15, 1890 in Untertürkheim ; † May 31, 1934 ) was a German designer and entrepreneur.

UT motorcycle from 1926

Scheihing initially worked at Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft and opened his own workshop in Stuttgart-Untertürkheim in 1922 , where contract manufacturing was carried out. Scheihing was an enthusiastic motorcyclist and therefore constructed his own motorcycle, which he produced from 1924 with his company UT Motoren- und Fahrzeugbau . The “UT” brand (short for “Untertürkheim”) motorcycles were produced there until 1926, with horizontal and air-cooled 2-stroke, 1-cylinder engines designed by Scheihing himself. Otto Schilling was an advisor . Scheihing sold his company to Maschinenfabrik Bergmüller & Co. in 1926, as he did not get any capital for the necessary expansion. In 1930 the “UT” production was transferred to the Möhringen company Schwenk & Schürle, where the motorcycles were produced until 1962.

Scheihing was married to Elise Gassmann.
