Hermann Spieß von Frechen (* in the 16th century; † 1618 ) was a canon in Münster .

Life

Hermann Spieß von Frechen was the son of NN Spieß von Frechen and his wife Margarethe von Dattenberg. After the death of Canon John Wischel Raesfeld on May 12, 1588 he had a papal submitted to commission and to transfer the Dompräbende asked. The cathedral chapter made it mandatory to first submit a family tree. Finally, after some back and forth, Hermann was emancipated on April 27, 1590. On June 2, 1590, he received permission from the cathedral chapter to continue his studies in Cologne . There is no evidence of the progress of the course. On March 26, 1597, he was accused of firing two shots after the watch in his courtyard, thereby terrifying citizens. His apology on April 1st closed the matter. Spit became violent several times. His neighbor, Canon Heinrich von Düngelen, complained about broken windows and broken doors. Hermann led an unsteady lifestyle and repeatedly offered the cathedral chapter opportunities to take action against him. However, there was no expulsion from his office. Even with persistent sins, no measures were taken to avoid scandals. In the case of Canon Wilhelm Heinrich von Schorlemer , the same was done.
