Hermann Upmann

Hermann Upmann (born June 11, 1902 in Brackwede , † September 10, 1944 in Belgium ) was a German politician and NSDAP district leader.

Life

Hermann Upmann was the owner of a drugstore in Brackwede and ran it from 1930. On July 1, 1924, he joined the SA and was a member of the Völkischer Block . In the Bielefeld local group he became a member of the NSDAP on May 9, 1925 and was here from 1926 to 1929 head of the press office. He then held various posts in the Brackwede local group before becoming NSDAP district leader in Bielefeld-Land in August 1934. He stayed in this office until March 3, 1938 and then moved to Borken-Bocholt as district leader. He stayed here - with interruptions - until December 5, 1942, when he was drafted into the Wehrmacht . During the fighting in Belgium he was killed as a corporal.
