Hermann zur Lippe

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hermann zur Lippe (* 11th century; † before 1123) was Herr zur Lippe and is the first tangible ancestor of today's King of the Netherlands .

Life

Little is known about Hermann's family. He is considered the father of the two brothers I. Bernhard and Hermann I called. Nothing is known about the mother of the two brothers. Hermann must have died before 1123, as his son Bernhard I was already mentioned in a document as Herr von Lippe at that time. Based on the typical guiding names of his house, it can be assumed that he is descended from the Werl house , but there is no documentary evidence of this.
