Life

The noble lords of the Lippe, Hermann I and his brother Bernhard I , are first mentioned in 1123. Her headquarters was the Herrenhof Hermelinghof , which was located in the area of ​​what would later become the city of Lippstadt .

Hermann and his brother founded a monastery for Premonstratensian women in Cappel around 1139 . After the death of Bernhard in 1158 he took over his territory.
