history

Hermannstetten, also called Hermolastettin , consisted of three farms with the names Ober-, Mitter- and Unterhermannstetten. Ober- and Mitterhermannstetten belonged to the parish Weicht . Unterhermannstetten, on the other hand, belonged to Weinhausen . The donation of a court by King Konradin to the Steingaden Monastery on July 7, 1264 is mentioned as an early historical mention . Further sales of farms to Steingaden Monastery followed. On April 13, 1579, the Steingaden Monastery surrendered an agricultural area near Hermannstetten in exchange. The ravages of the Thirty Years' War also hit the area around Wiedergeltingen very hard. The population decline in some parts of southern Germany was up to 2/3. Hermannstetten was also affected by this. During the Swedish War (1630-1635) within the Thirty Years' War, the place was abandoned. Hermanstetten was no longer drawn on a map published in 1758. Even on the first topographical maps of the Bavarian land survey from 1808 there is no longer any reference. The field name "Hermannstetterfeld" still reminds of Hermannstetten today.
