The Dalmatian dog breed is named after Dalmatia . This is based on an unproven legend, according to which Hermes of Dalmatia saw a dog on the horizon one day that was white in shape, with several black spots on its fur. Full of curiosity, he followed the dog over seven meadows, seven forests and seven rivers. At the end of his way he found a crowd in front of which Jesus was preaching.
