Hermine Straßmann-Witt , née Hermine Witt , ( January 11, 1870 in Aachen - after 1922) was a German theater actress .

Life

Witt, daughter of Julius and Fanny Witt , both actors, also entered the stage at an early stage. She had her first engagement in 1880 in Düsseldorf and in 1889 she joined the Association of the City Theater in Leipzig, where she was the first lover and in roles like "Cyprienne", "Genoveva" in Der neue Herr , "Frou-Frou" etc. It was highly popular with the public. In 1891 she and her husband Julius Straßmann left the ensemble on this stage in order to share his life from then on.

When he took over the management of the Deutsches Theater in Hanover in 1901, she too returned to the stage (she had also participated in Straßmann's American tour) and scored again in roles such as “Frau Etschepare” in red robe , “Sabine” in night and Morgen , "Frau von Disnak" in Black Sheeple , "Countess Beate" in Long live life great artistic successes. In later years (until 1922) she also appeared several times in front of silent film cameras.

Her sister was Lotte Witt . Her in-laws were Josef Julius and Marie Straßmann . These three were actors too.
