Josef Julius Straßmann

Josef Julius Straßmann ( March 29, 1822 in Düsseldorf - January 23, 1889 in Vienna , Austria-Hungary ) was a German theater actor .

Life

Straßmann belonged to the court theater in Munich from 1852 to 1866 and was mainly active in the field of youthful heroes. His most popular roles included "Thumelikus", "Leander", "Siegfried", "Mortimer" etc.

After leaving Munich, he switched to the subject of older heroes and later hero fathers and worked mainly in Bremen and Leipzig.

The artist died in Vienna on January 25, 1889.

He was married to Marie Damböck . His son was Julius Straßmann , his wife Hermine Witt his daughter-in-law. These three were actors too.
