Hermut Kormann

Hermut Kormann (born April 2, 1942 in Weiden in the Upper Palatinate ) is a former German manager and was CEO of the Swabian plant manufacturer Voith AG from 2000 to 2008 .

Life

Kormann graduated in the years 1961-1965 the degree program Master of Business at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and received his doctorate there in 1968. From 1968 he worked for a consulting firm working since 1973 in executive positions at various companies. In 1978 he became commercial director of Busch-Jäger GmbH and in 1981 commercial director of the industrial plant division of Brown, Boveri & Cie (BBC) (now Asea Brown Boveri ). In 1991 he was appointed to the corporate board of JM Voith AG . From the year 2000 he held the position of chairman of the board. During his time at Voith , the business volume grew from around 1.2 billion euros to almost 5 billion euros. Hermut Kormann retired at the end of March 2008. His social and scientific commitments remain unaffected.

Kormann was chairman of the Baden-Württemberg State Board of Trustees of the Stifterverband für die deutsche Wissenschaft, founding member of the Wissensfabrik - Enterprises for Germany e. V. and co-founder and board member of the sculpture symposium Heidenheim e. V. Since 2006 he has also been an honorary professor for business administration, in particular corporate management in family businesses, at the University of Leipzig . He is also an honorary professor at the Friedrichshafen Institute for Family Business at the Zeppelin University in Friedrichshafen. In May 2007 he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany .

After his retirement, Hermut Kormann was a member of the advisory and supervisory bodies of Robert Bosch GmbH; Bilfinger Berger AG; TRUMPF GmbH & Co. KG; Progroup AG; Edelmann GmbH & Co. KG; Brohl KG; Wörwag GmbH & Co. KG; Wittenstein SE; Huebner GmbH; Frères Fattal, Beirut; RedHead, Odessa.
