Hero Online is a Korean MMORPG produced by Netgame. It is available as freeware for Windows . The game, like Kal-online or Silkroad Online, is financed by a cash shop where players can buy special items for real money. However, these only make the game easier and are not absolutely necessary. Thus the player can decide for himself whether he wants to pay something or not.

The game is based on a story written by a Chinese author. There are four characters to choose from: The Ruthless Blade, The Elegant Mystic, The Piercing Eyes, and The Overseer of the Sky. Each of these characters can specialize in their own weapon type. Job classes can also be selected, such as Physician, Hunter, Warrior and Assassin.

On July 31, 2006, the international English version of Hero Online was officially released and is no longer in the beta phase.

The closed beta of the Turkish version, which is operated by Games-Arena (a subsidiary of the English Games-Masters.com), will start at the end of February 2008.
