Stora Ek mansion
The Stora Ek manor is located about eleven kilometers south of the Swedish city of Mariestad .
Stora Ek was first mentioned in 1462. In the 18th century the owners were members of the Scheffer family, who are also the builders of today's manor house . The mansion was built between 1768 and 1778, probably according to plans by the architect Jean Eric Rehn .
Stora Ek was declared a Byggnadsminne in 1967 .
