The manor house Wendorf , also popularly known as the Wendorf hunting lodge , is a palace built between 1904 and 1906 in Wendorf in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . The building is currently used as a five-star hotel.

Wendorf Castle on the former manor was first mentioned in 1637. At that time and until 1895 it was owned by the von Schack family . After eight years in the possession of Otto Schondorf, he sold it to Ivan Mackensen von Astfeld in January 1904. The new owner had the building completely rebuilt according to a design by the architect Paul Korff . The associated estate park with an oak tree that is up to 600 years old was designed with the help of the garden architect Reinhold Hoemann . After the Second World War, the castle served as a youth home. After the fall of the Wall it was restored and converted into the Schlosshotel Wendorf , which opened in June 2009.
