Baumgarten reign

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Baumgarten rulership , named after the village of Baumgarten in today's Dillingen an der Donau district , was a rulership in the Holy Roman Empire that was bought by the Counts of Fugger-Glött in 1621 . The Baumgarten dominion was drawn to the Glött dominion , also owned by the Counts of Fugger-Glött, and shared their fate until it was incorporated into the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1806.

history

Baumgarten was the seat of a lordship within the Margraviate of Burgau , which was administered by ministerials . The lords of Steinheim have been handed down from 1366 to 1416 . From the lords of Steinheim the rule came to the marshals of Oberndorf and then to the Augsburg family von Argen. The rule of the Augsburg hospital came to the Paumgartner , who now called themselves Paumgartner von Baumgarten. In 1610 the Baumgarten rule came to the Counts of Rechberg and Rothenlöwen and in 1621 to the Fuggers, who had owned the neighboring Glött rule since 1537 .

The rule Baumgarten was drawn to the rule Glött and the place Glött became the seat of the rule of the imperial counts Fugger-Glött with the places Baumgarten, Dürrlauingen , Glött, Hafenhofen , Windhausen and Winterbach . In Glött they set up an office for the administration of their rule, which was referred to as the senior or maintenance office .
