history

Until the 19th century

The castle and village of Glött were acquired by Anton Fugger in 1537 . The place became the seat of the rule of the Counts Fugger-Glött ( Herrschaft Glött ).

With the Rhine Confederation Act in 1806, the place came to the Kingdom of Bavaria , the Fugger-Glött submitted voluntarily in 1806. In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 . Glött Castle remained in Fugger's possession until 1869 .
