Glött is a municipality and a village in the Swabian district of Dillingen on the Danube .
geography
The place Glött is in the Augsburg region.
The municipality has five officially named municipal parts (the type of settlement is given in brackets ):
- Breitwiesmühle ( wasteland )
- Feldbachmühle ( hamlet )
- Glött ( parish village )
- Heudorf (hamlet)
- Brick barn (wasteland)
The former village of Glöttweiler has grown together structurally with Glött.
There is only the district Glött.
history
Until the 19th century
The castle and village of Glött were acquired by Anton Fugger in 1537 . The place became the seat of the rule of the Counts Fugger-Glött ( Herrschaft Glött ).
With the Rhine Confederation Act in 1806, the place came to the Kingdom of Bavaria , the Fugger-Glött submitted voluntarily in 1806. In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 . Glött Castle remained in Fugger's possession until 1869 .

In the municipal council elections in 2002, 2008 and 2014, all twelve seats were allocated to the CSU / CWV single list.
mayor
Friedrich Käßmeyer (CSU / Christian Voters' Association) has been the first mayor since May 1990; this was confirmed on March 15, 2020 with 83.5% for a further six years.

Economy including agriculture and forestry
In 1998, according to official statistics, there were no employees at the place of work in the manufacturing industry 77 or in the trade and transport sector. There were a total of 406 employees at the place of residence subject to social security contributions. There were none in the manufacturing sector and three in the construction sector. In addition, in 1999 there were 32 agricultural holdings with an agricultural area of 919 ha, of which 678 ha were arable land.

Renewable energy
In August 2007, the first wind power plant in the Dillingen district was built in Glött. It is an Enercon E-53 with a hub height of 73 m, a rotor diameter of 53 m and an output of 800 kW.
