The Hofmark Oberbechingen was from 1581 to 1622 held by the Ulmer Patrizierfamilie Roth von Schreckenstein. Hans Caspar Roth von Schreckenstein built Oberbechingen Castle here in 1584 . Today's municipal area belonged to the Duchy of Neuburg-Sulzbach and its court Höchstädt; since 1777 the area was part of the Electorate of Bavaria .
