Wind farm

In 2012/13, the largest community wind farm in Bavaria at that time was built in Zöschingen by the companies VenSol Neue Energien and Honold Windkraft and officially put into operation at the beginning of May 2013. The wind farm consists of eight wind turbines of the Nordex N117 / 2400 type, specially designed for low-wind locations . The turbines, which were built on 120 meter high steel towers, have a nominal output of 2.4  MW each , and the rotor diameter is 117 meters. With a total output of 19.2 MW, the wind farm should deliver around 40 million kWh of electrical energy per year , corresponding to the electricity consumption of around 12,000 households. The figure is now around 32 million kWh per year. As a result, changes to the participation agreements became necessary. A total of around 600 private individuals are involved in the wind farm.
