Ziertheim is a municipality in the Swabian district of Dillingen on the Danube and a member of the Wittislingen administrative community .

geography

The community is located in northern Swabia in the Egautal on the edge of the Swabian Alb , about nine kilometers north of Lauingen . The municipality boundary in the north is also the state border between Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg . In the west, about half of the Ziertheimer municipality area, lies the Dattenhauser Ried , the largest wetland in the Swabian Alb .

Ziertheim has three officially named parts of the municipality , which are also localities :

history

The place was first mentioned as Zurtin in 1232 , and in 1471 it is called Zürtheim .

19th century

As part of the Reichsstift Neresheim , Ziertheim came to the Princes Thurn and Taxis through the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss 1803 , whose property was then mediated by the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1806 . In 1810 the area of ​​the former Reichsstift, with the exception of Ziertheim, was ceded to the Kingdom of Württemberg .

On May 1, 1978, the previously independent communities Dattenhausen and Reistingen were incorporated.

Economy including agriculture and forestry

In 1998, according to official statistics in the manufacturing industry and in the trade and transport sector, there were no employees subject to social security contributions at the place of work. In other sectors of the economy this figure was 36 people. There were 378 employees at the place of residence subject to social security contributions. There was none in the manufacturing sector and one in the construction sector. In addition, in 1999 there were 30 farms with an agricultural area of ​​1141 ha, of which 859 ha were arable land.

In 2013 the municipal tax revenue amounted to € 567,000, of which € 118,000 (net) was accounted for by trade tax .

education

In 2016 there were the following institutions:

  • Kindergarten: In Ziertheim with 31 places. A new building costing 1.2 million euros was inaugurated in September 2016.
  • The primary and secondary school responsible for the community is located in Wittislingen, around 5 km away .

traffic

The state highway 2032 crosses the municipality in North-South direction. Via this there is a connection to the federal highway 16 in the south .

From 1906 to 1972 the place had a small train station on the abandoned Härtsfeldbahn from Dillingen on the Danube to Aalen . Today the Härtsfeld cycle path runs along the route.
