St. Martin (Dattenhausen)
The Catholic branch church of St. Martin in Dattenhausen , a district of the municipality of Ziertheim in the Swabian district of Dillingen an der Donau , was built at the beginning of the 18th century. The church at Vogteistraße 4 is a protected monument .
history
The patronage of St. Martins suggests that the parish was founded in Franconian times. The substructure of the Romanesque tower is still preserved from the medieval church .
architecture
The single-nave building was built in 1701. The nave has a flat roof, the square choir has a groin vault . The choir is located on the ground floor of the fortified tower from the 13th century. In 1917 Matthias Rothmiller added an octagonal attachment and an onion helmet .
Furnishing
The classical altars were created around 1780/90. The font , marked 1684, consists of limestone on a baluster base .
