Herbert Heuft

Herbert Heuft (born January 22, 1920 in Obermendig ; † December 26, 1997 in Koblenz ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Heuft was born as the son of the stone carver Georg Heuft. He first learned the stonemasonry himself, but was then drafted into the military. After the war and imprisonment, he returned to his job, but soon became secretary of IG Bau-Steine-Erden . Shaped by this activity, he was also politically active, became a member of the SPD, represented his party in the Obermendig municipal council (after the Mendig administrative reform ), in the Mayen district council (after the Mayen-Koblenz administrative reform ) and finally for a legislative period (1967 until 1971) also in the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament .
