Hertha-Maria Haselmann

Hertha-Maria Haselmann (born August 28, 1944 in Glückstadt ) is, along with sister Christa Steffens (April 17, 1923 - April 27, 2013), co-founder of Lebenswende eV drug help and received the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon .

Her motto is:

"Responsibility through probation,
probation through responsibility."

Career

Haselmann holds a degree in business administration . On October 17, 1978, together with Sr. Christa Steffens , she founded the Lebenswende eV drug help association in Frankfurt am Main and has since then been running the association's "Haus Metanoia" therapy center. From 1993 to 2018 she was the head of the association and thus of two other therapy centers. "She not only helps drug addicts to reintegrate into society - she also lives there with them and is a constant contact."

Honorary positions

Haselmann was a member of the main board of the German Evangelical Alliance from 1989 to 2012 and its treasurer between 1992 and 2004. In addition, she has been a board member of the local Evangelical Alliance in Frankfurt am Main since 1978 . She acts as deputy chairwoman in the executive committee of the Christian humanitarian aid organization World Vision .

Awards

In 1998 she received the " Honorary Letter of the State of Hesse " and in 2003 the " Crown Cross in Gold " from the Diakonisches Werk der EKD .

On February 19, 2009, Haselmann and Renate Siebenhaar received the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon “for their commitment to people in emergency situations” in their thirty years of service for drug users
