Hervanta is a district in the south of the Finnish city of Tampere . It is one of the largest and most famous Finnish suburbs. The hallmarks of Hervanta are the many massive high-rise buildings and the Duo shopping center, the oldest part of which was planned by the architects Raili and Reima Pietilä . In Hervanta there is a very varied range of services for a suburb. Among other things, you will find the Tampere University of Technology in Hervanta as well as dozens of technology companies that work with the mechanical, electronics and programming industries, for example.

Students

There are many students in Hervanta because of Tampere University of Technology . Probably the most famous student residence is the 'Mikontalo', the largest student residence in Finland. There are also many other student residences. The organization 'TOAS' offers the house groups Erkkilä, Kanjoni, Karinkaari, Mikontalo, Paawola, Tekniikantornit, Tuulanhovi, Veijonhovi, Wäinölä 1–3 and Veikkolat and the house groups Opintanner 1, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10 and 12 belong to the Organization 'Opintanner'.
