Katrin Hesse (* March 22, 1964 in Oldenburg as Katrin Patrzek ) is a German professor of business law at the Fulda University of Applied Sciences and studies director at the Administrative and Business Academy in Fulda and a former member of the SPD district council .

Live and act

After her Abitur at the Liebfrauenschule Oldenburg studied Hesse 1983-1989 Law at the universities in Gießen and Göttingen . After obtaining her first (1989) and second state examination (1994), she became a research assistant at the Institute for Foreign and International Private Law and Comparative Law at the University of Göttingen.

During this time she wrote her dissertation on the ancillary contract connection in international tort law, which she completed in 1991. This was followed by traineeships in the district of the Oldenburg Higher Regional Court , the administration of the city of Delmenhorst , the Weser-Ems district government , the state office for the settlement of open property issues in Halle (Saale) and the Oldenburg administrative court .

From 1994 to 1998 she worked as a research assistant at the University of Leipzig .

Below worked Hesse as a lawyer in business law law firms with in Leipzig and Oldenburg as well as an auditing and tax consulting company in Oldenburg. She was also chairman of the supervisory board of Wilhelm Rechtsanwalts AG in Oldenburg and legal advisor for medical and labor law at the German University Association in Bonn .

Since 2003 Hesse has been professor for (international) business law at the University of Applied Sciences in Fulda and, since 2005, director of studies at the Administrative and Business Academy in Fulda. Her work focuses on commercial private law , corporate law , international private law and comparative law . She has a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in business law with international aspects. In addition, Hesse was involved as a member of both the Senate and the extended executive committee of the Fulda University of Applied Sciences, and from 2006 to 2008 she was vice dean of the business department. She is also chairwoman of the supervisory board of Eurotreu AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft, Fulda. In June 2010 she founded the VWI Hochschulgruppe Fulda eV , a sub-organization of the Association of German Industrial Engineers, with students from the industrial engineering course

Political activity

In 2006 Hesse was elected to the district council of the Fulda district. She was a member of the SPD parliamentary group and was sent from there to the association assembly of the special purpose association Überlandwerke Fulda-Hünfeld-Schlüchtern (later RhönEnergie Fulda). At the end of October 2008 she was nominated as the SPD candidate for the election campaign for the 2009 Bundestag election in the Bundestag constituency 175 Fulda - Lauterbach - Schlüchtern and should run for the Social Democrats. However, due to private and legal circumstances and against the background of internal party disagreements, Hesse withdrew the Bundestag candidacy and subsequently also resigned from the SPD. Hesse ran for the mayor's office in Petersberg / Hessen in 2005, in Aalen / Baden-Württemberg in 2007 and as a non-party candidate in Rastede / Lower Saxony in 2019.
