Duchy of Sandomir
The Duchy of Sandomir (Polish Księstwo sandomierskie , Latin Ducatus Sandomirensis ) was a part of Poland from 1138 to 1320 with the main fortress Sandomir .
history
1138 divided Duke Bolesław III. Wrymouth raised the Kingdom of Poland among his sons. The newly formed Duchy of Sandomir received its youngest son Heinrich. Since he was not yet of legal age, his brother Władysław II took over the rule .
The duchy was converted into the Sandomierz Voivodeship in 1320.
