Hevesy is an impact crater on the back of the moon . It lies between the Haskin craters in the west and Plaskett in the east. To the northeast is the large Rozhdestvenskiy crater .

The crater was named by the IAU on January 22, 2009 after the Hungarian chemist and Nobel Prize winner George de Hevesy .
