Witches from the Suburbs is a Czech children's film with a fantasy character. At the 18th International Children's Film Festival in Frankfurt / Main (September 1992) he received both the Jury Prize of the International Children's and Youth Film Center (ClFEJ) and the "LUCAS" (Prize of the Children's and Adult Jury). The film also won the audience award “Pink Propeller” at the 1992 Berlin Children's Cinema.

The two six-year-old friends Petra and Veronika live with their lively and animal-loving aunts Emma and Lida in a house with a garden. This is threatened with demolition as the local prefabricated housing estate is to be expanded. In the garden the girls find a book of witches with recipes for magic potions . When they start experimenting with them, they wreak havoc in the home and town. By their sudden powers they get the attention of adults and can save the aunts' house and garden.
