Heydar Şeşo (2017)

Heydar Şeşo ( German : Heydar Schescho ) is the founder and supreme commander of the 3,000-strong Hêza Parastina Şingal ( German : Defense Force Sindschar ), a Yezidi vigilante group against the Islamic State in Iraq .

Şeşo is a German citizen and lived in Bad Oeynhausen until summer 2014 . He flew to northern Iraq to protect the Yazidi temple of Sherfedin .

In April 2015, various media reported that Şeşo, along with his bodyguards and other resistance fighters, had been arrested by security forces of the Kurdish Democratic Party (DPK). The reason was the arrest of his father-in-law, which Şeşo refused to accept. He was released eight days later subject to conditions (including the dissolution of the HPS). In retrospect, he declared that he did not want to meet the demands and that he would not dissolve the HPS.

Heydar Şeşo is the nephew of Qasim Şeşo , the Lion of Sinjar .
