Choi Hi-yong
Choi Hi-yong (born September 13, 1965 in Seoul , South Korea ) is a former South Korean boxer in light fly and straw weight .
Professional career
In 1987 he successfully started his professional career. On February 2, 1991 he boxed in the straw weight against Kim Bong-jun for the world championship title of the association WBA and won on points. This belt lost to Hideyuki Ōhashi in his fifth title defense in October 1992 .
In 1995 he won the WBA world title in light flyweight when he defeated Leo Gámez unanimously on points. He lost this belt in his second title defense against Carlos Murillo on January 13 of the following year by a unanimous decision of the judges.
After this defeat, Choi Hi-yong ended his career.
