Leo Gámez

Leo Gamez (actually Silvio Rafael Gámez , alias " El Torito " * 8. August 1963 in San Juan de los Morros , Guárico ) is a former Venezuelan boxer in Superfliegen- , Fly , Halbfliegen- and straw weight .

Professional career

Gámez boxed already in his 17th fight in the strawweight division for the vacant World Championship of the WBA and won on points. In October 1993 he also won this title in light flyweight when he defeated Shiro Yahiro by TKo in round 9. On March 13, 1999 he fought in flyweight for the WBA world championship and won by classic knockout. In addition, he defeated in super flyweight on October 9, 2000 Hideki Todaka by knockout and thereby became WBA world champion.

When he retired in 2005, his match record was 35 wins and 12 losses.
