The Hideaway Lake ( English for hiding lake ) is a 1 km long and 0.5 km wide lake on the West Antarctic James Ross Island . On the Naze peninsula , it is 1.5 km southeast of Terrapin Hill in a narrow and steep-walled valley .

The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1993 because the lake can only be seen when entering the valley.
