Hikari Sasaki

Hikari Sasaki (born October 4, 1967 ) is a former Japanese judoka .

Hikari Sasaki won the 1985 Asian Middleweight Championships in Kuwait. At the 1987 World Championships in Essen, she lost to the French Brigitte Deydier in the semi-finals , while Sasaki defeated the Dutch Chantal Han in the battle for a bronze medal .

In 1988, judo competitions for women were offered as part of the demonstration competitions at the Olympic Games in Seoul. Sasaki defeated the Algerian Samia Hachemi in the quarter-finals and the Austrian Roswitha Hartl in the semi-finals. The Japanese won the final against Brigitte Deydier after 2:27 minutes.

At the 1989 World Championships in Belgrade , she defeated the Cuban Odalis Revé in the semifinals , and in the final she was defeated by the Italian Emanuela Pierantozzi and received the silver medal. In 1992 Sasaki won the All-Japanese Championships against Ryōko Fujimoto , and Fujimoto started at the Olympic Games in Barcelona.
