The weekly magazine Hikmet ( Ottoman : حکمت; İA : Ḥikmet ; German : "Wisdom"), which appeared in Istanbul from 1910 to 1911 , was one of the first Sufi magazines founded during the Second Constitutional Period . The editor was the Turkish writer and thinker Şehbenderzade Filibeli Ahmed Hilmi (1865-1914).

The magazine had the subtitle "Unity is life and disagreement is death" ("İttihad hayattır, tefrika memattır"). A total of 79 editions were published in two volumes, containing political, economic and social topics as well as articles on philosophy, Islamic mysticism and Sufi literature. Hilmi's criticism of the Committee for Unity and Progress (İttihat ve Terakki Cemiyeti) ultimately led to the publication of the magazine being finally stopped. In addition to Hikmet, Hilmi also published the magazines Çaylak , İttihat-ı İslam and Coşkun Kalender .

A complete and freely accessible online version of the journal can be found in the digital collections of the University and State Library of Bonn .
