Hikmet Temel Akarsu (* 1960 in Gümüşhane ) is a Turkish novelist and short story writer and satirist. He grew up in Istanbul and studied architecture at the İstanbul Teknik Universitesi .

Literary work

He produced in all literary fields, such as essays, articles, reviews, games and scripts. Not only his series novels, but also his satirical and critical writings were well received in society. His novels, in which he describes Turkey's difficult years, left a melancholy taste. His series novels, such as “Kayıp Kuşak” (Lost Generation), “İstanbul Dörtlüsü” ( İstanbul Quartet ) and “Ölümsüz Antikite” (Eternal Antiquity) have been published by the prestigious publishing houses in Turkey. His writings have appeared in many respected literary magazines, including a. in “Varlık”, “Gösteri”, “Radikal Kitap”, “Cumhuriyet Kitap” and “Yasak Meyve”. At times he also wrote newspaper articles.

With his radio play “Çalınan Tez” (Stolen Thesis) he received a prize from the Turkish radio TRT . His novella “Babalar ve Kızları” (Fathers and Their Daughters) was published in 2005 by İnkılap Verlag. His first youth novel “Güzelçamlı'nın Kayıp Panteri” (Lost Panther of Güzelçamlı) was published in 2006 by Can Yayınları. His radio game “Taşhan” was broadcast in eight chapters on TRT 1 between July 14 and 22, 2006. He is a member of the Pen Club , Turkish Writers Association and Architects Association.
