Hilary Mooney

Hilary Mooney (* 1962 in Dublin ) is an Irish Roman Catholic theologian who works in Germany .

Life

Hilary Mooney studied Catholic Theology , Philosophy , Latin and Greek at University College Dublin and the Milltown Institute of Theology and Philosophy in Dublin. In 1991 she received her doctorate in theology at the Philosophical-Theological University of Sankt Georgen in Frankfurt am Main. After completing her studies, she taught at various universities and was a research assistant at the Department of Ancient Church History and Patrology at the University of Freiburg from 1994 to 1996 and 2001 to 2005 . From 1998 to 2000 she received a habilitation grant from the German Research Foundation . In 2003 she qualified as a professor at the University of Freiburg in the subjects of dogmatics, the history of dogmas and the history of theology. Between 2004 and 2008 she gave lectures in dogmatics at the University of Mannheim . From 2005 to 2007 Mooney was a lecturer for Catholic theology at the Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Education . In 2006 she was awarded the title of Associate Professor at the University of Freiburg.

In 2007 she took over a professorship at the Weingarten University of Education . In 2009 she was appointed professor for Catholic theology and religious education at the PH Weingarten.
