Karlheinz Ruhstorfer

Karlheinz Ruhstorfer (born May 9, 1963 in Simbach am Inn , Lower Bavaria ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian and university professor .

Life

Ruhstorfer studied philosophy, German literature and history at the universities of Munich and Freiburg from 1984 to 1987 . From 1988 to 1993 he studied Catholic theology at the University of Freiburg. In 1993 he received his diploma in Freiburg, his doctorate in 1997 and his habilitation in 2003 for the subjects of dogmatics and religious philosophy . The first supervisor of the dissertation and habilitation was Peter Walter , whose research assistant he was also from 1999 to 2006. In 2005 the University of Freiburg appointed him an extraordinary professor .

From 2006 to 2013 Ruhstorfer was Professor of Systematic Theology at the University of Koblenz-Landau . From 2013 to 2017 he held the chair for systematic theology at the Technical University of Dresden . In 2015 Ruhstorfer was elected chairman of the German section of the European Society for Catholic Theology . In 2017 he accepted a call to the theological faculty of the University of Freiburg, where he has held a chair in dogmatics ever since.

His main research interests are the philosophical foundation of theology, the theory of revelation, doctrine of God, Christology, anthropology, theological diagnosis of the times and theology of history.
