Hilda Huang

Hilda Huang (* 1996 in Fremont , California ) is an American pianist .

biography

Hilda Huang was born to Chinese immigrants from Hong Kong and Taiwan in Fremont, Silicon Valley. She received her first piano lessons at the age of three and continued her education at the San Francisco Conservatory .

She performed as a soloist at the Carmel Bach Festival in California in 2004 at the age of eight. In 2007 she won first prize at the Bradshaw & Buono international piano competition and in 2010 the main prize at the International Würzburg Bach Competition as well as the grand, jury and recital prizes at the 2nd International Tureck Bach Competition (NYC). She has been the U.S. President's Art Fellow since 2013 and the YoungArts Week Gold Prize winner . In 2014 she won the International Bach Competition as the first US woman and the youngest participant ever .

Hilda Huang played with the Central German Chamber Orchestra , the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra , the Symphony Parnassus , the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra and the San Francisco Bach Choir .

She has given concerts at the Kennedy Center , Carnegie Hall and the Leipzig Gewandhaus , among others .
