Hilde Jennings (born December 21, 1906 in Bad Freienwalde , Mark Brandenburg ; † unknown) was a German actress and dancer with numerous appearances in silent films .

Live and act

Hilde Jennings, who comes from the Mark Brandenburg region, received ballet lessons as a young girl and was then hired as a dancer to a Russian ballet troupe, with whom she went on tours to Italy , Spain and Morocco . After two years abroad, Jennings received an engagement at the Berlin State Opera .

Not yet 18 years old, she made her debut in film: Hilde Jennings appeared in front of the camera as a dancer in the Lotte Neumann film The Brigandess of New York . In the next five years, Hilde Jennings was given predominantly supporting supporting roles in less significant silent films. She took on important tasks in 1927 in poor little Colombine and (at the side of silent film legend Asta Nielsen ) in prostitute tragedy .

With the dawn of the sound film age, her screen career was already over. Hilde Jennings moved with her husband, the director Michail Dubson (1899-1961), who had cast them in Two Brothers in 1929 , in his Soviet homeland and acted in two Russian-language films, the last ( Bolschije krilja ) directed by Dubson. When Michail Dubson was arrested as a result of the Stalinist 'purges' in the late 1930s, Hilde Jennings had to leave the USSR again. With their expulsion, their trail is lost.
