Help, my family is crazy was a German television series from 1993. The 26-part series is an adaptation of the US television series A terrible family .
action
The plot and characters largely corresponded to the US template with only minor cultural adjustments. Jupp Strunk, as the German equivalent of Al Bundy, is also a shoe seller, but while Al Bundy z. B. is a big football fan, Strunk Fortuna Cologne is a fan.
After the first episodes were almost exact copies of the US model series, later attempts were made to incorporate their own ideas.

The criticism was largely negative - criticized was the too tight adaptation of the US original without meaningful adaptation to German conditions and the resulting lack of originality. The taz found the series to be "boring sound". On Moviepilot.de it was number one in the top 7 German comedy series crimes and was commented on with the words “The fact that 26 episodes of such garbage were filmed only shows that things weren't always better in the past, even on German TV . ”Christian Richter called the series in his TV cemetery column onquotemeter.de the“ probably most colorless comedy series on German television ”.
