Hilgard Muller
Hilgard Muller (born May 4, 1914 in Potchefstroom , † July 10, 1985 in Pretoria ) was a South African politician .
In Pretoria he was city councilor from 1951 to 1957 and mayor from 1953 to 1955 . As a member of the National Party , Muller was elected to the South African parliament in 1958 for the constituency of Pretoria East . He was from 1961 as the successor to Albertus Johannes Roux van Rhijn High Commissioner and after South Africa's withdrawal from the Commonwealth of the Ambassador of South Africa in London .
From 1964 to 1977 he was foreign minister of his home country, from 1972 also party chairman in the Transvaal . After 1977 he retired from politics.
