Hillsborough is the largest town on Carriacou Island in Grenada . The place serves as a commercial and administrative center for the Dependency Carriacou and Petite Martinique . The place has about 1,000 inhabitants.

The place is on the east coast of the island ( Hillsborough Bay ). There are ferry connections to St. George's and Petite Martinique . Lauriston Airport is approximately 1 km away.
history
In 1796, Hillsborough Bay was the starting point for an attack by Sir Ralph Abercromby on the Spaniards . Today the Carriacou National Museum is located in Paterson Street. The museum used to be a cotton gin mill . The museum is managed by the Carriacou Historical Society .
