Petite Martinique is a Grenadian island. Together with the neighboring island of Carriacou, which is five kilometers to the west, it is part of the Grenadines , an archipelago within the Lesser Antilles .
It is about 2.4 km² and has around 900 inhabitants. It reaches a height of 226 meters. The closest island is the neighboring island of Petit St. Vincent , only 725 meters further north , which belongs to the state of St. Vincent and the Grenadines .
history
Petite Martinique was always counted as part of Grenada by its respective owners and colonial rulers and therefore shares its history, which includes multiple changes of ownership between France and Great Britain.
