Hindko also Hindku or Hindkowan ( Persian هندکو, Urdu ہندکو, meaning “language of the Indians”) is an Indo-Aryan dialect group in Pakistan , which belongs to the Lahnda group.

Hindko dialects are spoken in the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa , especially in the former Hazara division , from Dera Ismail Khan in the south to the Asad Jammu and Kashmir area in the north. The total number of speakers was estimated to be 3,690,000 in 2014 and around 4 million in 2018.

A distinction is made between a northern and a southern Hindko dialect group. Hindko is not recognized as an official language.
