Hinrich Brummer
Hinrich Brummer was a bookbinder in the early 18th century and a privileged bookseller and publisher with a shop in Stade in the Duchy of Bremen and Verden .
As a bookseller with good connections to neighboring Hamburg , Brummer published, among other things, the opera texts by Barthold Feind and Christian Friedrich Hunold's Satyrical Novel in the second version from 1710.
Mr. Zacharias Conrad von Uffenbach noted a visit to Brummer's bookstore, remarkable journeys , 2 (Frankfurt / Leipzig, 1753), p.147:
- “On the morning of 13th [March 1710] we went to Heinrich Brummers' bookstore, who, although he is only a bookbinder, got himself a privilege in the Duchy of Bremen and Verden to do the book trade alone , although published with lots of new books. He's a good man otherwise, and gave us good news from some of the scholars here. When I asked him about old Herr von Stade and his work by Ottfrido, he said that he had printed the specimen, only the Werck itself, because it had six alphabets [“six alphabet” are 6 × 23 = 138 printed sheets] should become severe, he does not dare to take over, out of concern that he will not miss it and that he might suffer damage.
