Hinrich Brunckhorst

Hinrich Brunckhorst (born July 9, 1903 in Bartelsdorf , Rotenburg district; † October 21, 1992 in Scheeßel ) was a German farmer and politician ( DP ).

After finishing elementary school, Brunckhorst worked on his parents' farm until 1925. He then took up an apprenticeship as a street-setting craftsman. Since 1934 he ran an independent wholesaler of road construction materials. Between 1940 and 1945 he participated in the Second World War and was taken prisoner by the Soviets. From this he was discharged due to illness. After his return from captivity he was the owner of a farm. Since 1946 Brunckhorst sat in the local council and district council in Rotenburg. In 1949 he became district administrator of the Rotenburg district . He remained in this office until 1968. Brunckhorst was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament from May 6, 1959 to May 5, 1963 in the fourth electoral term. He was a member of the DP parliamentary group until March 29, 1962. He remained non-attached until the end of his mandate.

In 1969, Brunckhorst was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st class .
