Hinton Battle

Hinton Battle (born November 29, 1956 in Neubrücke , Rhineland-Palatinate ) is an American actor and dancer . He is a three-time Tony Award winner ; he won his awards in the category Best Supporting Actor in a Musical . He received the last Tony in 1991 for his role in Miss Saigon . In Broadway - musical The Wiz , he played Scarecrow , a character of the same film later by Michael Jackson was shown.

Life

Hinton Battle was seen several times on television, for example in the 1992 pilot for Red Dwarf and in 2001 in the Buffy musical episode Once Again with Feeling, where he embodied the dancing and singing demon Sweet .

He is now also active as a dance teacher, including working with Jennifer Lopez and teaching at the renowned Baltimore School for the Arts . As a choreographer he was involved in the film Idlewild by the hip-hop group OutKast .
