Hippocoon (father of Neleus)
Hippocoon ( Greek Ἱπποκόων , the horse connoisseur ) from Amyklai is a person in Greek mythology . Hyginus Mythographus calls him the father of Neleus , while otherwise Poseidon is given as his father.
At another point, Hyginus lists three sons of the Hippocoon of Amyclai among the participants in the hunt for the Calydonian boar . He calls them Eneasimos, Alkon and Leukippos . Ovid says four of his sons attended and one was fatally wounded by the animal.
