Hiroshi Moriyama
Hiroshi Moriyama ( Japanese correct 森 山 ? , Moriyama Hiroshi , electronically the spelling of Hiroshi is often reproduced as 裕 ; born April 8, 1945 in Kanoya , Kagoshima Prefecture ) is a Japanese politician, member of the Shūgiin (House of Representatives), the lower house of the Kokkai (National Assembly), for the 4th constituency (before a reorganization in 2017: 5th constituency) of the Kagoshima prefecture and was Minister of Agriculture in the reorganized third cabinet of Shinzō Abe from 2015 to 2016 . Moriyama currently belongs to the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), including the Ishihara faction .
Moriyama, a graduate of Kagoshima Prefecture's Nisshin High School in evening classes , was elected to the Kagoshima City Parliament in a 1975 by- election, for which he was then re-elected six times in a row. From 1982 he was President of Parliament, in 1997 also chairman of the Kyūshū City Parliament Presidents' Conference (Kyūshū shigikai gichōkai) . In 1998 he switched to national politics and ran for the Sangiin (council house), the upper house of the national parliament , alongside the experienced Kichio Inoue as one of two LDP candidates in the July election in Kagoshima prefecture (then two seats per partial election) . When Sadanori Yamanaka , the longtime MP for the 5th Shūgiin constituency of Kagoshima Prefecture , died in 2004 , Moriyama ran in the resulting by-election on April 25 and was elected by a four-fifths majority against candidates from the DPJ and KPJ . In the 2005 post-parliament, when parts of the LDP rebelled against the privatization of state mail pursued by chairman Jun'ichirō Koizumi , Moriyama voted against the privatization law and had to run in the resulting Shūgiin election in 2005 without an LDP nomination, but was able to sit with over 60 Holding% of the vote against an LDP “assassin” candidate and a communist. In 2016, he was replaced by Yūji Yamamoto in another cabinet reshuffle .
