Hiroshi Yamazaki (Japanese 山崎 宏, * around 1970) is a Japanese jazz pianist .

Live and act

Yamazaki learned the piano at the age of seven and first performed as a professional jazz musician at the age of 22 in the SAB Hall in Osaka. After graduating from Osaka Music College, he moved to New York; there he studied with Buddy Montgomery . In 1988 he appeared in a trio with Paul West and Leroy Williams ; engagements in jazz clubs such as The Village Gate , Blue Note and Birdland followed . In 1993 the first recordings were made in the backing band of the singer Donna Cumberbatch (alias Tulivu ); In 1996 he presented his debut album Sketch of Bridge , which he shared with Ron Carter andLewis Nash had recorded. In 2000 the production We May Say Love followed , with Steve LaSpina and David W. Jones junior . He has also worked in the New York area and Japan with Rufus Reid , Akira Tana , Tony Jefferson and Andrew Beals . He led his own formation and belonged to the bands of Carmen Leggio , Glenda Davenport , Bill Crow , Jimmy Hill , Alan Goidel and Jan Leder . In the field of jazz he was involved in six recording sessions between 1968 and 2014. Yamazaki teaches at the Westchester Music Conservatory in White Plains .
