The Hiroshima Sun Plaza ( Japanese 広 島 サ ン プ ラ ザ , Hiroshima San Puraza ) is a building complex in the West District ( Nishi-ku ) of Hiroshima , Japan . It seats 6,052 people and also includes a banquet center , hotel and restaurant . The center opened in September 1985.
In 1991, Eric Clapton and George Harrison performed in the main hall as part of their joint tour.
In 2011 the Women's Volleyball World Cup took place here.
