Nargis is a French commune with 1,498 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loiret in the region Center-Val de Loire . Fontenay-sur-Loing belongs to the arrondissement of Montargis and the canton of Courtenay (until 2015: canton Ferrières-en-Gâtinais ).

geography

Nargis is located about 45 kilometers east-northeast of Orléans in the Gâtinais region on the Loing , which also forms the eastern municipal boundary and into which the Cléry flows here. The Canal du Loing runs along the eastern edge of the municipality . Nargis is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Château-Landon in the north, Dordives in the northeast, Fontenay-sur-Loing in the east and southeast, Girolles in the south and Préfontaines in the west.

The A77 car route runs along the northern edge of the municipality .
